In March 2011, Feeding America released their latest study, Map the Gap.  This study breaks down hunger on a state-by-state, county-by-county, food bank-by-food bank level.  The study found that the service area for Harvest Texarkana has a 18.7% overall food insecurity rate - close to the highest for the entire state of Arkansas.  Bowie County Texas has a 19% food insecurity rate.  One in five of our neighbors are going hungry.  Click here for the summary for the state of Arkansas.  Click here for the summary for the state of Texas.  Or go to Map the Gap for the full report.

The newest, updated version of Map the Meal Gap was released in April of 2012. Hunger increased from 18.7% to 19.9% for the Harvest Texarkana service area. Click here to view the updated data.
